Vintage film posters are high on my list of collectables. I have amassed quite a collection of the greatest films of all time including Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz as well as the Audrey Hepburn classic Breakfast at Tiffany's. Legendary actors in the films listed below have inspired many people with their grace and style, setting the stage for great acting.

Gone with the Wind (1939) - So much went into the making of this film, from the two hundred sets that were designed to the 53 buildings that were erected to re-create the city of Atlanta. It had a production cost of close to four million dollars. No expense was spared in the making of this classic film and judging by the response of the viewers it was money well spent.

This film is considered the most beloved, enduring and popular film of all time. It is a historical epic film of the Old South during wartime that tells a timeless, classic tale of a love-hate romance. Scarlet O'Hara, struggles to find love during the Civil War years with a man already spoken for.

Film Facts

  • Gone with the Wind won ten of the thirteen Oscars it was nominated for.
  • Over one million copies of the novel were sold within the first six months of its publication.
  • The book has been translated in twenty-three languages

Great film posters include Gone with the Wind. The Wizard of Oz (1939) - Who has not seen this classic film? It is timeless and unmatched in its continuing popularity even after decades since its debut. Dorothy (Judy Garland) and the cast of crazy characters including the tin man, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion claimed our hearts and we have never let go.

Film posters like Breakfast At Tiffanys are still very popular."There's no place like home."

Over the years Baum's magical tale of the Land of Oz has been adapted into every medium possible, stage, silent film, cartoons and cinematic production. No other film has ever had the kind of merchandising popularity as this movie has had. The demand for Oz Film posters and other memorabilia is still as high as it ever was.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) - This wonderful film has stood the test of time and remains a classic. Audrey Hepburn played the outlandish Holly Golightly much to the dismay of Capote who had Marilyn Monroe picked out for the part. Audrey Hepburn pulled it off with her grace, accent, chic style and tremendous talent.

Being an Audrey Hepburn fan I did not find it at all surprising that in a survey of over 2,500 Biography Magazine readers, she was chosen as the respondents' Favourite Leading Actress of all time. She was a beautiful woman and a talented actress the world misses dearly. In 1990, People magazine deemed her one of 50 most beautiful people in the world. Film posters of Audrey Hepburn are still in huge demand as collectors and fans alike keep her legacy alive.
