Science Fiction
I have always had a fascination for science fiction films. The idea of distant planets, impossible quests, unknown and inexplicable forces allows the viewer to enter a dreamscape they never thought possible. The computer generated special effects in sci-fi films allow viewers a fantastic glimpse into an unknown future that can be very exciting. As I continue to collect star wars film posters they just keep getting better and better. Star Wars is not just a movie; it is a mystical and phenomenal experience for many.
Original Cast Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) has emotional memories about making parts two and three after he was the victim of a terrible car accident before the premiere. He endured reconstructive surgery on his face that would show in the next two films. Hamill bravely went ahead and continued playing the part of Luke Skywalker but went on to explore other entertainment avenues such as doing cartoon voice-overs, for TV shows such as "Scooby-Doo," "The Powerpuff Girls" and various Batman animated series. In addition, he co-wrote a series of graphic novels (comic books for adults) called "The Black Pearl." Carrie Fisher who played princess Leia went on to become a novelist writing the hit Postcards from the Edge. She is host of the show "Conversations from the Edge," an interview show on the Oxygen cable channel. Harrison Ford has a long list of acting credits to his name including hit films such as "Indiana Jones," "Clear and Present Danger," "The Fugitive," "Air Force One," and many other incredible films. "Luke... I am your father." Sci-fi Film Posters Here are some more of my all time favourites; Alien - One of Hollywood's unforgettable sci-fi movies set a new tone in movie making by creating terrifying alien encounters. The riveting suspense and terror of man versus alien became a huge success as we watched space heroine Sigourney Weaver (Ripley) fight to the death for survival.
Blade Runner - Harrison Ford is on the hunt for a murderous android "replicant." In the process, he journeys through self discovery and the understanding of those around him. Its stunning special effects and incredible cinematography will keep you on the edge of your seat. The Matrix - The Matrix is a highly suspenseful and action-packed film that keeps people wondering by the end of the film, "What is the Matrix?" The Sentinents control the world and only "the one" can take them down. This movie has biblical references to the coming of Christ. Interested? See my Matrix page. The Lord of the Rings - One paragraph simply won't cut it for this extrodinary epic. Check out my complete Lord of the Rings page.
